I am a Mexican living in America, and I stand with Texas and believe in their right to secure their border.

Hola amigos, it’s your pal Señor Juan!

In today’s article, I will be writing in good English. The problem that is going on at the border in Texas is very serious, so today I will be serious too.

As a Mexican living in America, I have been watching the crisis that has been happening at the border of Texas and Mexico. Many Americans think the governor of Texas shouldn’t put razor wire at the border. The American president Joe Biden says that Texas National Guard is not allowed to do this, and the Supreme Court has agreed with him. The governor of Texas still will not remove the razor wire.

I am not sure why the Texas governor isn’t allowed to protect his border. Mr. Biden does not seem to want to do it, so it’s only reasonable that the governor should do it. Every year millions of Mexicans sneak across the American border into the United States, and it gets worse every year. I do not support shooting people trying to cross the border or hurting them, but we need to do something.

I came to the United States in 2004. To get here, I had to sneak through a hole in a fence in El Paso and meet a man in a van, who drove me to Fairfax, Virginia where my brother Rico was waiting for me. I had to pay almost $2,000 for this, but it was worth it to leave my hometown of Juárez. Juárez was very dangerous because of the drug cartels, and it still is very dangerous today. Many Mexicans who come to America do this because of the violence and high crime rate in Mexico.

After I made it to America, I worked whenever I could to make money. I did mostly construction work with my brother, and learned a lot on the job. I worked in many diners and restaurants too. I slowly learned basic English, and a few years later AJ taught me to read, write, and speak English good. He also helped me become a legal American citizen, and also helped my family later.

I came to America illegally, but it was a lot of hard work. The hard work made me appreciate all of the opportunities America has provided for me. This is why I am upset to see that Mr. Biden wants to let millions of Mexicans come in. If you let everyone in, then you are letting in bad and lazy people too. You are letting in the cartel, and you are letting in people who don’t want to work. I came to America and I worked very hard so I could stay here. It isn’t fair to allow others to come in and not work. Mr. Biden and the Democrats want to not only let Mexicans come into America, but they also want to give them money. Why? Those people did not earn that money! There are many families in America that are suffering every day because of poverty, so why does Mr. Biden and his Democrats want to give that money to Mexicans? The leader of a country should always put the needs of his own country first. Joe Biden does not do that. If an American were to move to Mexico and expect Mexico to give them money, Mexico would laugh at them and tell them to leave.

When millions of people come into Texas from Mexico, somebody has to pay for them to stay here. The people of Texas must use their tax money to pay for this. This is money that could be spent on education or fighting crime or helping communities. It would make sense to stop the flow of illegal immigration to the United States by securing the border as Texas Governor Greg Abbott is doing. I do not understand why Americans would think this is wrong.

I left Mexico and came to the United States to leave behind the people who made Mexico bad. Now Joe Biden wants to open the border and let those people into America so they can ruin it too. I worked very hard to earn my money and learn English and fit in to America, and it isn’t fair that this country should open their doors and allow people to come in when they do not want to do the work.

I do not like Donald Trump, but in this election I will be voting for him. I cannot vote for Joe Biden again. He does not care about America, and he would waste tax payer money supporting people who do not want to work.

America is the best country in the world. It has many opportunities that other countries do not. But you have to work hard to succeed in America. Those who who do not want to work very hard should not come to America and should stay in their own country. If it is very hard to come to America then that means only those who would want to work will come in. By allowing everyone to come across the border, you are also allowing the lazy people and the criminals to come in too.

If Mr. Biden does not want to secure the border, then someone has to. As an American citizen, I thank Texas Governor Greg Abbott for securing the American border and support sensible border control.
