REDDIT REVUE: r/MensLib
This month’s Reddit Revue: r/MensLib!
I believe in giving women rights.
And if they don’t listen the first time, I also believe in giving them lefts too.
…
Alright, so that joke was bad. But you know what else is bad?
r/MensLib.
I’ve never been afraid of saying that society has over-corrected when it comes to making up for the poor treatment women have received on the whole (pun not intended but still funny). Women were treated like second-class citizens for most of human history, there’s no denying that. Unfortunately, in today’s society we’ve overcompensated for this with feminism and all kinds of “girl boss” empowerment bullshit being shoved into our media. Think about how many shows and commercials you’ve seen where the man is depicted as a bumbling idiot who needs the woman to solve his problems. Now imagine if the roles were reversed and the woman was the idiot. That shit would never fly in today’s society, there would be hurt feelings and lawsuits galore. I could probably write an entire article on the double standards both men and women face, and maybe I will one day.
With that said, men don’t exactly have it bad. On average, we still get paid more and we still find ourselves in more positions of authority. Sure, we weren’t lucky enough to get the ability to have multiple orgasms, but at least we don’t bleed for a week every month. I wouldn’t call myself a “male feminist” by any stretch (and any guy who does can go ahead and cut his balls off and put them on top of the fridge next to his Soylent), but I’m not going to sit here and pretend that men are oppressed.
r/MensLib is a subreddit that promotes discussion of those often-overlooked issues that men face today, like discrimination in family court, a social stigma against masculinity, or physical abuse suffered at the hands of a female.
At least, that’s what it should be. After skimming the subreddit I can see that it’s anything but that. It’s not even an incel-infested hotbed of hate towards women. At least that would have provided some laughs. What r/MensLib really is is just… sad.
I’ll let you read the description:
This reads like it was written by a woman.
I guess the “Lib” is short for “Liberal”, because this shit looks like it came straight out of a course at Berkeley. “Inclusive masculinity”? “Explore and revisit the traditional models of masculinity”? “We consider ourselves a pro-feminist community”? Man, get this shit the fuck outta here.
I went into this expecting a subreddit full of incel rage on par with what we saw at r/MaleDatingStrategy. Instead, I got the world’s biggest wussies virtue-signaling about things like “toxic masculinity” and racial equality.
This, unfortunately, is r/MensLib.
I get not wanting to support Trump, but seeing a subreddit dedicated to “Men’s Lib” supporting Kamala Harris just feels wrong.
White supremacy is fucking stupid, but it’s also become an overused buzzword by the left to describe anyone even remotely right of center.
And while we’re on the subject, I want to take this opportunity to laugh at our British friends who are being arrested and jailed over social media posts. I also want to take this opportunity to remind Keir Starmer that the UK has no jurisdiction here, and that he should stop threatening to extradite Americans because he has no balls. We spanked your pale tea-sipping limey asses twice already, and we can sure as shit do it a third time.
Jesus Christ, the Democratic Party shills are out in full force at r/MensLib.
90% of the subreddit is this same guy posting links to news articles.
I’m all for talking about the stigma against men showing emotion, but this sounds like some made-up bullshit.
It doesn’t help that you used the word “neurodivergent”, which is made-up bullshit.
Woah woah woah buddy, we’re not allowed to talk about actual issues that men face. This isn’t the place for that. Take your misogynistic shit somewhere else.
I’m straight, so if it makes my dick hard then it’s a woman.
Wait, people actually like Andrew Tate? Unironically?
I thought we were only encouraging him so he keeps making an ass out of himself for our amusement.
Of course not, it has nothing to do with liberal politics.
Anyone who asks the question “How should I lose my book virginity?” needs to be kicked in the nuts. Repeatedly. With steel-toed boots.
Nabokov? Yeah, I’m going to have to ask you to have a seat right over there buddy.
How exactly did Dazed Digital come to this conclusion that straight men don’t read novels?
Oh, never mind. It’s just another shitty cumrag publication that specializes in sensationalism.
Based. Come apply for a job at AJnet Magazine when you turn 16.
Try doing your job as a fucking parent instead of asking people on Reddit to help raise your kids.
To be fair though, most of Ben Shapiro and QAnon’s following probably consists of 11 year old boys. Or at least, people with the mentality and intelligence of one.
“I find myself thinking that I’m lucky to be in such an echo chamber of people who think alike.”
How braindead and emasculated do you have to be to actually utter this sentence?
Nobody truly understands me like strangers on Reddit.
You know, it’s almost like these alpha bro influencers are all a bunch of flim flammers and scam artists taking advantage of gullible young men for profit.
See, this is what r/MensLib should be about. Here’s an honest and frank discussion about men being the victims of female abuse.
I’m surprised the moderators haven’t deleted it yet.
The person who wrote this article is a ligma male. Questionable methods aside, Tom Shelby and Walter White both rose from obscurity and built powerful empires. And John Wick is fucking bad ass. Who wouldn’t want to be like him?
Also, I’ve been actively trying to avoid using posts by “TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK” since it’s clear the guy has no life outside of posting left-leaning political propaganda on this subreddit, but it’s proving to be very hard. Seriously, this guy makes almost every thread there. Get a fucking life dude.
The idea of a male kindergarten teacher doesn’t sit right with me.
And that’s exactly the kind of double standard that r/MensLib should be working to end. Instead they’re more concerned with toxic masculinity.
Ah, so that’s what Hanson is up to these days.
“Democrats have a man problem.”
I should say so, especially if the posts on this subreddit are anything to go by.
I’m with you on this, Google sucks ass these days.
Hey, leave Gurren Lagann out of this you piece of shit.
I teared up at the end of The Notebook, but I’m still more of a man than anyone on r/MensLib.
…
Right?
…
Guys?
The situation in Ukraine is nothing like Americans avoiding the draft during Vietnam. If your country is literally being invaded by a foreign military and you choose to run away and hide you’re a pussy and deserve exile.
Who the fuck would actually watch a three hour video about this shit?
…
That’s it, I’ve had just about enough r/MensLib for one day.
I’m thinking next month’s Reddit Revue will be r/Elon, a subreddit dedicated to everyone’s favorite con artist and the owner of Twitter or X or whatever the hell they’re calling that toxic waste dump these days.
