It’s about that time again, chaps.
I’ll be honest, no matter how many times I pull this site, no how many times I “retire” from writing, I always come back. AngryJerk.net is like a bad penny or a case of herpes, and maybe it’s time I embrace that (for another year at least until I do this same song and dance again).
Text-based ranting is dead. The days of sites like Rantlister are done, no matter how many times I try to revive the concept. The rant scene has moved on to YouTube, and has become pre-packaged, sanitized, and branded for public consumption. Most of it is just generic rehashed overdone bullshit that someone heard somewhere else and felt the need to put their own spin on. Instead of some angry person with a camera, you now have full-fledged production teams shooting high-def scripted video rants with state-of-the-art equipment and corporate sponsorship, while saying shit like “I don’t care if this is unpopular, but…” Bull-fucking-shit, you’re about to go into yet another rant about President Trump (who I fucking love simply because he relentlessly pisses everyone else off while doing even the most mundane of things). There’s nothing unpopular or controversial about anything you say, because if there was you’d lose your corporate sponsorship in a heartbeat and have an army of fat stupid and angry Tumblrina crybabies howling for your blood like the animals they are. You’re just another commercialized phony.
Yup, they finally came for ranting, just as I said they would. For fuck’s sake, look at this shit. This site makes me angry. I want to find where they’re based and take a drunken piss on their fucking floor. Fuck that website, fuck it to hell with a cactus dildo.
So what do I do?
Do I join the YouTube ranters? No, I don’t have the voice or face for video ranting. Writing is and always will be my strength.
Do I make another push to try to resurrect text-based ranting? No, that didn’t work the last fifty times.
Do I call it quits for good and just give up? No, that didn’t work the last fifty times either, I fucking love writing.
I think I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing, consequences be damned.
So what can you expect for 2018? No idea, I’m just gonna write whatever the fuck I want at this point. No grand plans to “rebuild my empire”, no promises of new projects that never come to fruition. Just good ol’ fashioned angry text ranting.
