People need to realize there's a very thin line between "Oh no, I was peacefully exercising my rights as an american citizen and I was harassed!" and "I shoved a camera in a congressman's face, refused to identify myself, and he briefly restrained me!"
I can just tell that those two were hoping this guy was going to call Obama a nigger or something. These guys didn't even bother to edit the video to make it seem like they had a point at all.
"What happens when a US Representative meets a college student on the streets of Washington?"
What fucking video are they describing? It's just some guy walking down the street, minding his own damn business, and suddenly two random kids accost him.
"Hey congressman! Hey congressman!"
That's not how you start an interview. Plus, the way they refer to him as "congressman" as opposed to his name pretty much screams "I have absolutely no respect for you! Now answer my questions, because you are an elected official and my parents pay taxes and therefore you work for me!"
"Do you fully support the Obama administration?!"
I like how these kids get right to the brass tacks. No bullshitting around with softball questions like "Do you mind answering a couple questions?" or "Do we have your consent to film this?" like those other reporters do.
"He goes BERSERK"
I can see how an old man pushing a camera out his face can remind a soft, frail republican youth of a viking in the midst of a rage-fueled killing spree.
"Just here for a project, sir"
Can you be any more of a jackass? The kid's tone at this point of the video suggests that he considers the congressman beneath him, and now he's berating him like a cop to a drunken wife beater.
"Please let go of me"
Pretty standard reaction, no one likes being defensively hugged by an old man. But the kid's lisp is really funny in this part.
The best part was when he kept asking their names, and they just told him they were students. Students from where, he asks. Students. Just students. Doing a project. Oh, well that puts my mind at ease!
People all over the internet are like "He's a public servant he shouldn't do things like this" but maybe you should consider the idea that congressmen have dignity and aren't just lawmonkeys dancing for your tax dollars.
