I frequent YouTube mainly for episodes of old cartoons and music videos, but occasionally I stumble upon shit like this or this. The arrogancy level of these grandiose jerk-offs is enough to make even Mac users cringe in fear. While my arrogance is only an image I front for entertainment purposes, these people are dead serious. It's amusing that both sides seem to consist primarily of neckbeards, obese dorks, or a combination of the two.
My personal religious beliefs are that the Gods portrayed in most religions (modern and ancient) are the same being/beings. They all have a common core belief: Unquestioning obedience of a higher authority who created us. Those who question or do not obey are forced to suffer, while those who blindly obey are rewarded. There is usually an evil figure who is a god or was once close to the god(s) but was shunned for going against them. These beliefs have been appearing in different religions for several millennia, so there has to be at least some legitimate basis for them. I believe there is a God who created us, but he's not perfect like he claims to be. He's no more inherently good or evil than you or I. The only things that put him above us are his ability to create and destroy, and his ability to garner a following of the weak-minded. I believe that a Satan figure exists or did exist at one point, but wasn't inherently evil. Think of him as a revolutionary who saw issues with the way Heaven was being ruled, and wanted to change it for what he felt was the better. Since God's army (why an all-powerful being would need an army and why he needed to appoint Michael as commander of it is beyond me) got the upper hand and defeated Satan's forces, we only get to hear God's side of the story. Is Satan worthy of sympathy and maybe admiration? Yes. Is he worthy of worshipping? No. If I must label my beliefs, I'll go with Dystheism.
I'm not going to pretend that my beliefs are 100% right and others are 100% wrong, but when I see blatant arrogancy from people who think that their religious beliefs entitle them to be disrespectful twats to others, I'm going to put them in their place. Both parties of the debate are guilty of this, and they know it. They're just too vain to admit it.
It's this arrogancy that has led me to officially throw my hat into the ring and remind both sides of why they're idiots. With a mix of trolling, sarcasm, and humor, I'm going to do my best to prove to the people partaking in these pissing contests that they're assholes and need to lose the arrogance. Also, I'm going to attempt to give a voice to Dystheism on YouTube. Any scripture quoted WILL be researched beforehand to ensure accuracy. The same goes with quotes from people.
It's time to take YouTube back and put an end to this faggotry. Anyone who wants to join me, I welcome you. If there is enough demand, I'll make a YouTube group or something.
